So you win again, you win again. Another big win and another big step towards retaining my title.
I always monitor the price movements of players in my squad, in case I’m planning on moving them on. That was the case with El Ghazi, for the second time this year I jumped on a player who had been performing well, just as he dropped off. He was about to drop in price and a player I had been monitoring was about to rise, so I pulled the trigger. Out goes El Ghazi, in comes Barnes of Leicester. The Foxes are flying in the league and have decent fixtures coming up.
Now, a curve ball. I don’t like taking points hits, but…
Harry Kane went off injured last night, the early news today is that he will miss ‘weeks’. Now, this could be only 2 weeks, but even if it is, he would miss at least 3 games. At the time of writing, he is set to drop in price today. There is a chance he would drop again after the next game week too, and I’d be holding on to someone for no real reason.
The task now, find a worthy replacement. If I’m taking -4 then I need someone with a good chance of scoring to basically wipe that out.
It’s a bit of a punt because he’s out of form – but his fixtures are good. He only left the squad due to injury himself, so it’s time to welcome back, Dominic Calvert-Lewin. If I can’t take a points hit when I’m 7 games clear in the league, when can I take one?!
The captaincy goes to Salah. I was very tempted by Cancelo, but the slight risk of Pep rotating worries me.
McCarthy; Kilman, Cancelo, Stones; Gundogan, Fernandes, Barnes, Salah (c); Bamford, Antonio, Calvert-Lewin.
Another loss, and the fat lady is warming up her vocal chords.
In my defence, every change Simon made turned to gold and some risks didn’t pay off as OGS decided to rest Cavani against the team bottom of the league, that hit me hard, but Utd lost, so the egg is on your face, Ollie!
Considering I initially looked at this game week when I made my changes so as predicted, no changes for me this week.
Martinez; Stones, Justin, Cresswell; Gundogan, Son (c), Fernandes, Mane, Foden; Cavani, Ings.
